Visitors to Paducah’s historic downtown will find a variety of local art, shops, restaurants, and other cultural attractions, each housed in beautifully preserved historic buildings. Local artists can be found painting and creating art at the downtown gazebo, located at the corner of 2nd and Broadway. Local chefs whip up a variety of cuisine from steaks to seafood, and create a most memorable dining experience for visitors and residents, alike.

Downtown visitors are lured into the various cultural attractions including live theater, music, and art and history museums. Visitors are never disappointed by the variety of entertainment options available downtown.

Downtown is not only a great place to visit, but an even better place to live. There are a variety of upper floor condos, allowing residents to live within walking distance of local eateries, shops, and entertainment options. 9,600 residents have made Paducah’s historic district their home bringing new life to the area, allowing Renaissance Area businesses to flourish.

And if this isn’t enough, there are 66,750 residents, maintaining an average household income of $52,350 (Source: ESRI), who live and work within a 20 minute drive of Paducah’s historic downtown and LowerTown Arts District (Source: ESRI).

Downtown Farmers’ Market

Paducah’s Downtown Farmers’ Market is a local favorite. The market offers fresh produce, honey, canned goods, and locally-produced wine. The market is open from mid-April through mid-November. Twenty vendors set up Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Downtown and LowerTown residents enjoying walking to the market to pick up fresh, locally-grown produce and products. Paducah’s Wall to Wall Floodwall Murals

Paducah’s Wall to Wall Floodwall Murals area  series of interpretive panels highlighting historic moments in our city’s history. PRA is responsible for annual maintenance of the floodwall. The City of Paducah provides lighting and landscaping to showcase this impressive display of Paducah’s history. Promotional merchandise, including posters, prints, postcards and commemorative books are available through the PRA office, located at 605 Broadway. Prints, commemorative books and posters can also be purchased at the National Quilt Museum, River Discovery Center, Wagner’s Wine & Spirits, PAPA Gallery, and the RiverPlace Gift Shoppe. Commemorative Bricks

Leave a footprint in Paducah’s historic downtown. Commemorative bricks can be purchased at PRA and will be placed on North Second Street in Lovers’ Lane, Quilters’ Alley, Veterans’ Walk, or around the gazebo. Call 270.444.8649 for more information.

 

Art a’ la Cart

Paducah is a community centered around the arts. Visitors and residents, alike, enjoy Paducah’s Art a la Cart program. Local artists create their work on the streets of Paducah’s historic downtown. Carts are set up around the downtown gazebo during the summer, fall, and spring months of the year. Artists offer live demonstrations, showcasing their skills through watercolor, sketches, painting, and a variety of other media.
